Dive into a discussion on the Field Approval process where we'll look at several examples of where unapproved modifications or incorrectly accomplished modifications under STC's resulted in accidents or incidents. We'll discover what regulations cover Major Alterations, the differences between Major Alterations vs. Major Changes in Type Design, what is needed for certification, what data might be required, and why. We'll discuss what could require a Flight Manual Supplement, how a placard may be used, and who can approve each. Once you have an understanding of the regulations and publications, we’ll work through an example of what an acceptable submission might look like.
